How do you enable non-profits to take risks?

At DreamNow we have been lucky to develop a sustainable income stream and it has enabled us to take risks on questions and explore new programs or projects. We want to know how the whole sector can move from a place of scarcity and fear to one of abundance and possibility. What role does philanthropy play in this and where does social entrepreneurship fit into the mix?
